INTRODUCTION TO SUPER 8
Introduction to the possibilities of Super 8 for beginners. For those who want to shoot something in Super 8 and do not know how, here's your chance. Bring your own camera if you have one, and if not, we will lend you one at the workshop.
Aimed at those wishing to develop the creative and technical possibilities of Super 8.
Date: 2,3.and 4 of July , 2010.
Hours: Fridays from 17:00 to 22:00
Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00.
Sunday 11:00 to 13:00.
Price: 80 euros.
Number of participants: 20.
Workshop Content
a) Different types of movie cameras and their handling. Beginning with the replacement of batteries, we will explain the use of the light meter, the viewfinder, film counter, the different running speeds. It also will address how to roll in slow motion, the process of animation with stop motion, the lighting needs and use of daylight filter.
b) The different types of film. We will review the advantages and disadvantages of shooting in either B / W or color reversible film or B / W or color negative.
c) Running the projector. Explaining the operation of the Super 8 projector and how to solve possible problems (for example, what to do when the film gets stuck, or where to buy lamps and viewfinders and how to change them).
d) The Script: In groups of two or three people we will prepare to shoot an idea in three minutes (the lenght of a reel of Super 8 film) without repeating the shots.
e) The Making: We will practice shooting with your camera or the one the workshop lends you.
f) Viewing the finished work.
